From December 1, 2025, a new QR-code format for Aadhaar cards, changes in salary structure according to the Labour Code, and updates in LPG cylinder prices will come into effect. These changes will directly impact the common person's pocket and monthly expenses.
New Rules December 2025: Across the country, several major rules are set to change from December 1, 2025, which will directly impact the common person's finances, identity, and daily expenses. These include important updates such as a new look for the Aadhaar card, the new Labour Code, and potential changes in LPG cylinder prices. It's crucial to be aware of these changes starting in December so you can prepare your plans in advance.
Major Change in Aadhaar Card
UIDAI is set to introduce a new format for the Aadhaar card from December 1, 2025. While current Aadhaar cards display complete information including name, address, mobile number, and Aadhaar number, the new system will only show a photograph and a high-security QR code on the Aadhaar card. This QR code will be scanned using the New Aadhaar App, and identity will be verified through a Face Recognition System.
UIDAI is implementing this change to strengthen data security and protect personal information. The new process will eliminate the need for personal details to be printed on the card, thereby reducing the chances of misuse. Users may need to complete a process at an Aadhaar center or online portal to update their cards.
Towards the Implementation of the New Labour Code
The new Labour Code has already been passed in the country, which includes the Code on Wages 2019, Social Security Code 2020, Occupational Safety Health and Working Condition Code 2020, and Industrial Relations Code 2020. Indications suggest its full implementation by December 2025. The most significant change will be seen in the salary structure of employees, as per the Code on Wages, the Basic Salary must constitute at least 50 percent of the total CTC.
This rule will affect PF and Gratuity calculations, leading to an increase in PF contributions and greater long-term benefits, although the in-hand salary might be slightly reduced. The government may issue detailed guidelines for this in December, after which changes in salary structures could begin to appear.
LPG Cylinder Price Update
LPG cylinder prices are updated on the first day of every month, and domestic gas prices will also be updated in December. LPG prices depend on international crude oil rates, the dollar exchange rate, and the tax structure. If international prices increase, domestic cylinders become more expensive, and if prices decrease, consumers get relief. Domestic LPG is a crucial part of every family's budget, so this change coming in December could directly impact monthly expenses.
Impact on Your Pocket from December
The combined effect of these three changes—the new Aadhaar card format, alterations in salary structure due to the Labour Code, and LPG price updates—will impact every household's planning. The new QR-based Aadhaar system will make identity more secure, the Labour Code will lead to future increases in PF and gratuity, and LPG prices could affect monthly budgets.
