China Hypersonic Missile: Beijing-based Lingkong Tianxing Technology has started mass production of its YKJ-1000 hypersonic missile. This missile can fly seven times the speed of sound and can target precise objectives within a range of 500 to 1,300 kilometers. The company released its launch video on Tuesday. The missile can be launched from both land and sea and is equipped with the ability to adjust its trajectory during flight via an autonomous navigation system. Its low cost and high performance make it strategically significant.
Technical Specifications of the Missile
The YKJ-1000 missile is equipped with an autonomous navigation system that can adjust its trajectory during flight. It is designed to accurately target high-value targets and conduct reconnaissance through advanced sensors. This missile can fly for approximately 6 minutes and can also be launched from portable units like shipping containers.
The company states that the missile's cost has been reduced by using automotive-grade chips and civilian materials. This same strategy has enabled the company to make its mass-production supply chain effective.

Future Plans and AI-based Version
Lingkong Tianxing Technology is now working on an intelligent version of this missile, which will utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI). Furthermore, the company is also preparing to develop a civilian plane capable of flying five times the speed of sound. Its first test is scheduled for 2027, with plans to complete full vehicle trials by 2030.
This initiative will accelerate China's private aerospace industry and pave the way for creating high-performance missiles and aircraft at a low cost.
