India Urges End to Ukraine War at UN, Emphasizing Diplomacy and Humanitarian Concerns

India expressed deep concern over the Ukraine war at the United Nations. India stated that the death of innocents is unacceptable and an end to the conflict is necessary. Dialogue and diplomacy were described as the only path to lasting peace.

UN: India has made a significant and clear statement at the United Nations (UN) regarding the Ukraine war. India has stated that the deaths of innocent civilians in Ukraine are completely unacceptable and that an end to this conflict is in the interest of all nations. India also reiterated that no solution to this war can emerge from the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy are the only paths to lasting peace.

Loss of Innocent Lives is Unacceptable

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Parthasarthi Harish, stated that India remains continuously concerned about the current situation in Ukraine. He clearly stated that the loss of innocent lives is unacceptable. The death of civilians in any conflict is against both international law and humanity.

India believes that a resolution to the Ukraine war is only possible through peaceful negotiations. This is why India has repeatedly appealed to all parties to move towards a ceasefire and dialogue.

Dialogue and Diplomacy are the Path to Peace

In his address, Harish stated that India has always maintained the position that a lasting solution to the conflict can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy. He acknowledged that this path may be difficult, but it is the only way to establish lasting peace.

He also said that full participation and commitment from all parties are essential in this direction. Without mutual trust and cooperation, no solution can endure for long.

Meeting Between Trump and Putin Called Positive

India referred to some recent events at the United Nations and described them as positive. India stated that the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska was a positive step.

Harish said that India appreciates the progress made in this meeting. He also considered the discussions held by the US President with Ukrainian President Zelensky and European leaders in Washington D.C. as significant. All these efforts indicate important steps towards peace.

PM Modi's Active Role

India informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in continuous contact with the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine. Furthermore, he is also in dialogue with European leaders. Modi has already made it clear on several occasions that this is "not an era of war."

Impact of Conflict on the Global South

India stated that the most severe impacts of this conflict have been on the Global South. Rising fuel prices, food crises, and economic instability have severely affected many developing countries.

India expressed regret, stating that these countries have been left to fend for themselves. Therefore, it is crucial that their voices are heard and their legitimate concerns are taken seriously.

India has always adopted a people-centric approach to the Ukraine conflict. India has provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Along with this, it has also provided economic assistance to many friendly countries and partners in the Global South, including India's neighboring countries that are currently facing economic crises.
