Indian equity markets are expected to open higher on Friday, supported by positive global cues and investor activity. Gift Nifty Futures were trading 90 points higher at 23,204 at 7:20 am, indicating a firm opening for the Nifty-50.
The anticipated gains follow a sharp decline in the previous session. On Thursday, markets recorded a significant fall after Iran’s attack on energy installations in Qatar, leading to investor concern and an erosion of approximately ₹13 lakh crore in market capitalisation. This marked the largest single-day decline in the past 21 days.
HDFC Bank board development
HDFC Bank CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan stated that the bank’s board was surprised by the sudden resignation of part-time Chairman Atanu Chakraborty.
