Indian Soldier Arrested for Leaking Secrets to Pakistani Intelligence, Golden Temple Bomb Threat Emerges

The arrest of a soldier accused of leaking confidential information related to the Indian Army to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, has alerted security agencies. The Punjab State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) arrested the soldier, Davinder Singh, from the Uri sector of the Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir. Davinder Singh is a resident of Nihalgarh Shadiheri village in the Sangrur district of Punjab.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Davinder was leaking sensitive and confidential information related to the army to the enemy country. Considering the seriousness of the matter, investigation agencies are now interrogating him extensively to get to the bottom of the entire network.

Arrest Based on Information from Former Soldier

The SSOC's investigation has revealed a shocking fact. Davinder Singh's arrest was made based on information provided by another accused, Gurpreet Singh alias Guri, who has already been arrested. Gurpreet is a former soldier and is also accused of spying for the ISI.

It is reported that Davinder and Gurpreet had been in contact for a long time and were working together to obtain documents related to the Indian Army. Notably, Davinder also helped Gurpreet while incarcerated in Firozpur jail. This chain has become a major headache for the investigation agencies.

Threat to Blow Up the Golden Temple

On the other hand, another security-related concern has emerged in Punjab. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami reported that five emails threatening to blow up the Golden Temple with a bomb have been received since July 14. He said that this is a very serious matter and the police administration has been informed about it.

Amritsar police took immediate action and increased security around the Golden Temple. The Border Security Force (BSF) bomb disposal team has also been deployed in the area. Although the sender of the threatening emails has not yet been identified, the investigation is proceeding rapidly.
