Pharma Sector Rises

At the sectoral level, the pharma, oil & gas, and realty indices saw good gains. Due to investor activity in pharma stocks, shares like Cipla and Dr Reddy’s Labs were among the top gainers on the Nifty.

Investor interest remained in the oil and gas sector as well, leading to gains in the related index. The realty sector also saw positive movement in its index due to buying activity.

Performance of Key Stocks

Reliance Industries supported the Nifty the most and closed with a gain of 1 percent. Due to some weak performance in the financial sector, the Nifty Bank closed flat. AB Capital and L&T Finance recorded gains of 2 to 3 percent respectively.

PG Electroplast, which was included in the F&O ban, ended the trading session with a gain of 4 percent. On the other hand, BSE and Angel One saw a decline of 7 percent following the recent statement by the SEBI Chairman.

Mixed Trend in the Market

Ola Electric saw a decline of 8 percent on Thursday after a rally in the previous two sessions. Positive news regarding the disinvestment process of IDBI Bank led to the stock gaining 8 percent. Nava saw buying with b volumes and closed with a jump of 13 percent.

In the QSR sector, Swiggy and Jubilant Food finished the trading session with gains of about 3 percent. Thus, a mixed impact of both gains and losses was seen in every share in the market.
