Indian equity markets are set to begin Wednesday’s trading session higher after Tuesday’s gains. At around 7:15 am, GIFT Nifty was trading 77 points, or 0.31%, higher at 24,557, indicating a potential higher opening for domestic benchmarks.
Global market cues and a decline in crude oil prices are supporting the opening indicators. Brent crude fell about 3.2% to around $89 per barrel, its lowest level in about a week. Expectations of easing tensions between the US and Iran have provided some relief to international oil markets.
Investors will continue to track developments involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. Any escalation in tensions in the region could affect crude oil prices, the Indian rupee and foreign investor activity.
Corporate earnings will also remain in focus on Wednesday. Juniper Green Energy, Oneindig Technologies, Simbhauli Sugars and Vikas Ecotech are scheduled to announce their quarterly earnings.
Billionbrains Garage Ventures will also remain in focus. According to reports, Ribbit Capital may sell around a 1.6% stake in the parent company through a block deal. The transaction is estimated at approximately ₹1,914 crore.
A large block deal is also being discussed in Welspun Corp. Welspun Investments & Commercials and the company’s Managing Director and CEO, Vipul Mathur, may sell around a 2.4% stake. Such transactions can affect the stock price and trading volume.
Cipla said the USFDA conducted a cGMP follow-up inspection of its manufacturing unit in Pithampur. Updates related to the inspection will remain relevant for investors tracking the pharmaceutical sector.
