iPhone 17 Pro Models: Sales of the iPhone 17 series have commenced worldwide, including in India and China, from September 19, with new models reaching customers via pre-bookings. However, in China, numerous users have reported complaints of scratches on Pro models and the Deep Blue variant. Even display models in Apple Stores in Hong Kong and Shanghai showed marks within a few hours. Apple has yet to provide an official statement on this matter.

Most Complaints for Deep Blue Variant

The Deep Blue variant of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max has received the most complaints regarding scratches. According to reports, scratches and marks began appearing on display models in Apple Stores in Hong Kong and Shanghai within just a few hours. Apple introduced these models with a new design and aluminum finishing. In addition to the Deep Blue variant, incidents of scratches have also been observed on the Black iPhone Air.

Issue Trends on Social Media

It is not yet clear how widespread the scratch issue on new iPhone 17 models is, or if it is also being observed in models sold outside China. Apple has not yet issued an official response on this matter. Sales of the new lineup began in China on Friday, and by noon on the same day, hashtags related to iPhone scratches started trending on Chinese social media.

Previous Incidents in Apple's History

This is not the first instance where Apple has faced complaints about new products from day one. During the iPhone 7s era, customers also complained about scratches and marks on its glossy black finish. The situation was even more severe during the iPhone 6 era, when many users reported issues of their phones bending.

This time too, the scratch issue in the new iPhone 17 Pro models has affected the experience of early users, and the company's response is awaited.
