A tragic road accident on the Mohammadganj-Japla road in Palamu resulted in the death of 30-year-old Ravi Kumar. The car driver and other passengers sustained injuries. Compounding the family’s grief, Ravi’s 80-year-old uncle also passed away on the same day.
Jharkhand: Ravi Kumar (30), a resident of Japla Bhatti Mor, worked as an auto-rickshaw driver. On Tuesday, while transporting passengers, his auto-rickshaw collided with another auto-rickshaw driven by Raju Mehta, a resident of Mohammadganj. In an attempt to avoid the collision, a car following behind lost control and crashed into an electricity pole on the roadside.
Ravi Kumar died instantly in the severe accident. Eight other people, including the car driver, were injured. Ravi’s 80-year-old uncle, Ganesh Das, had also passed away on the same day, bringing double sorrow to the family.
How the Accident Happened
The impact of the collision was so severe that both auto-rickshaws and the car were badly damaged. At the time of the accident, a total of eight people were travelling in the car, en route to Madhya Pradesh. The car driver, Gulab Singh, was seriously injured.

Priyanka Kumari, the 16-year-old daughter of Ajay Bhuiyan from Mohammadganj, and Ranjan Kumar, the 24-year-old son of Brij Mohan Yadav, were also seriously injured in the auto-rickshaw collision.
Injured Admitted to Hospital
All the injured were brought to the Hussainabad Sub-Divisional Hospital. After receiving first aid, the seriously injured were referred for better treatment. The accident caused vehicles to come to a standstill on the road, and the wreckage of the vehicles created a frightening atmosphere.
The police arrived at the scene, seized the damaged vehicles, and took them to the police station, making arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
Family in Shock
The death of Ravi Kumar has deeply shocked his family. The funeral procession for his uncle, Ganesh Das, had not even begun when the untimely death of his nephew plunged the entire family into mourning. The entire village was shrouded in grief due to the two deaths on the same day.
Upon receiving information about the incident, ASI Kayamuddin Ansari, Pradyumn Paswan, and other police personnel from Mohammadganj police station arrived at the scene. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are taking legal action.
