Rajasthan Police Officers Arrested for Extortion and Kidnapping in Jodhpur

A shocking case has emerged from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, raising questions about the credibility of the police department. Here, in a brazen act, four constables, under the guise of their khaki uniforms, allegedly abducted a young man, took him to the police station, and forcibly extorted cash, money from his ATM, and cryptocurrency. The sensational allegations have caused a stir in the Jodhpur police department.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, Jodhpur Police Commissioner Rajendra Singh has immediately suspended all four accused policemen. Meanwhile, IPS Hemant Kalal has confirmed that after the preliminary investigation, the accused were arrested and presented in court, from where they have been sent to two days of police remand. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of kidnapping, extortion, threatening, and criminal conspiracy.

What is the whole matter?

The victim, Dilip Gaud, a resident of Banar Road, Jodhpur, stated that on July 14, he went to a showroom in Pawta with his friend Ramesh Sharma for shopping. During parking, four uniformed policemen in a white car stopped him. According to Dilip, Constable Jagmal forcibly entered his car and, under the pretext of questioning, took him out and seized the vehicle.

After this, Dilip was forcibly taken to Mata ka Than police station. There, Dilip alleges that all four policemen threatened him and extorted ₹1 lakh in cash and withdrew ₹1 lakh from his wife's ATM. In addition, approximately ₹8.6 lakh worth of USDT cryptocurrency was also forcibly transferred from Dilip. Not only this, but his iPhone was also confiscated for some time.

Threats given in the police station

Dilip further alleged that another constable, Rakesh, present at the police station, threatened to frame him in a false case and mentally harassed him. According to Dilip, no valid legal procedure was followed during the entire episode. Neither was he shown any arrest notice nor was he informed of any written action. In this way, this case has become an example of not only corruption but also disregard for legal procedure.

Questions on the government and police department

The victim, Dilip Gaud, has filed a written complaint at the Police Commissioner's office, in which he has demanded the return of the cash, ATM amount, and cryptocurrency recovered from him, along with confirmation of the suspension of the guilty policemen. Also, a b criminal action has been appealed against them.

This case has now become a major challenge for the state government and the police administration. Because Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma himself is the Home Minister of the state and the police system of the entire state is running under the supervision of DGP Rajiv Sharma. In such a situation, this incident has raised serious questions on the accountability and transparency of the entire system.

When those who protect the law start breaking the law, from whom will the general public expect justice? This case is not just an incident related to one person, but it is a test of the credibility and sensitivity of the entire administrative structure.

The investigation is ongoing, and now it remains to be seen how transparently and seriously the police department proceeds in this matter.
