Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar stated that the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is certain to win in Bihar, and Tejashwi Yadav will be the Chief Minister. He also questioned the BJP's strategy and said that a wave of change is sweeping the state.
Bihar Election: The political atmosphere is heating up before the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. In this context, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar has made a significant statement regarding the leadership of the Mahagathbandhan and the Chief Minister's post. He clarified that if the Mahagathbandhan secures a majority in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav will become the Chief Minister. He also stated that there is no confusion or controversy on this issue.
Kanhaiya Kumar explicitly stated that the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) is leading the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, and Tejashwi Yadav, being the Leader of the Opposition, is the natural claimant for the Chief Minister's post. He said, "Creating controversy over the face of the Chief Minister is just a tactic to divert attention. The public wants to discuss the real issues, and the opposition will focus on those issues."
Targeting Political Opponents
Kanhaiya Kumar launched a sharp attack on the BJP and the NDA, alleging that as soon as the BJP gets an opportunity, it first supports any regional party and then tries to eliminate it. Citing the example of Nitish Kumar, he said that if the BJP gets a chance, they will remove him from the Chief Minister's post as well.
Kanhaiya also said that the BJP is repeatedly repeating its old strategy: first give support, then gradually eliminate political existence. He warned the public that it is necessary to understand the BJP's strategy.
A Wave of Change is Flowing in Bihar
Kanhaiya Kumar claimed that this time there is a ber wave of change in Bihar than before. He said that people are tired of the current governance and now want change. He said that the BJP has no concrete issues this time, so it is trying to exploit issues like 'Operation Sindoor' for electoral gain.
However, Kanhaiya said that this issue is related to the security and respect of the country and should not be politicized. The people of Bihar know that it is not right to take political advantage in such matters.
The Situation of the Last Elections and the Current Equation
In the 2020 assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal emerged as the largest party. It won 75 seats. The Congress won 19 seats and the Left parties won 16 seats. On the other hand, the BJP won 74 seats and the JDU won 43 seats. The NDA government was formed, and Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister for the seventh time.
Kanhaiya Kumar said, "The equations have changed now. The public has seen how much development has taken place in the last five years and how many schemes have remained only on paper." He expressed confidence that this time the public will vote in favor of change.
On Balance in the Mahagathbandhan
Kanhaiya Kumar also spoke about coordination and balance among the constituent parties of the Mahagathbandhan. He said, "If a vehicle is running, its clutch is as important as the brakes and the rearview mirror." He said this in response to a question about the 'senior-junior' politics in the Mahagathbandhan.
He acknowledged that the RJD is the largest party and therefore its leadership is natural, but he also added that parties like the Congress, the Left parties, and VIP also have their own roles in this alliance.
Questions on the Nitish Government
Kanhaiya Kumar also questioned the Nitish government. He said that "the government's priority is not to solve the problems of the people but to remain in power." He said that if the NDA gets another chance, the crisis of stability could arise again in Bihar.
