Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar made a major political claim on Friday, stating that this time, the people of Bihar are in the mood for change, and a Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) government is sure to be formed in the state. He also added that no matter who wins, Nitish Kumar will not be the next Chief Minister.
Wind of Change in Bihar, People Are Ready for Transformation
During a conversation with the media in Patna, Kanhaiya Kumar said that the people of Bihar are now thinking about issues like development, employment, education, and health. He stated, "A wind of change is blowing in Bihar. The public is now judging the government not by promises, but by its work. When the results come on November 14, a new government will be formed that will give Bihar a new direction."
Kanhaiya claimed that people's trust in the "double-engine government" has now waned. He argued that despite having the same party in power at both the Centre and the state, Bihar did not receive the expected development.
BJP Itself Is Destroying JD(U)
Kanhaiya Kumar launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party, JD(U). He said, "The BJP itself is destroying the JD(U). Nitish Kumar should fear the BJP, not the opposition. Even if, by mistake, the NDA secures a majority, Nitish Kumar will not become the Chief Minister. His fate will be similar to that of Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra."
Kanhaiya's statement is set to stir new ripples in Bihar politics, as it directly questions Nitish Kumar's leadership capabilities and the unity of the BJP-JD(U) alliance.
Double Engine Government Pushed Bihar Backwards
The Congress leader accused the state's current government of having "derailed Bihar from the path of development." He stated that Bihar's condition on basic issues like employment, education, and health is alarming. "The double-engine government has ruined Bihar's situation. Unemployment is at its peak, the education system has collapsed, and corruption has become commonplace. The public is now demanding accountability for all of this," he said.
Kanhaiya also stated that upon the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government, special emphasis would be placed on creating employment for youth, preventing migration, and strengthening law and order.
Rahul Gandhi Understands Public Issues
When asked if he himself would be contesting the elections, Kanhaiya Kumar said that "it is not necessary to contest elections every time." He explained that this time his focus is on strengthening the organization and expanding the Mahagathbandhan's election campaign. Regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's role, Kanhaiya said that he stays among the public not just during election times, but throughout the year.
