Kieron Pollard Becomes Second Player to Reach 14,000 T20 Runs

West Indies' Kieron Pollard has achieved another significant milestone by completing 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. He accomplished this feat while playing for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025.

Sports News: West Indies' explosive all-rounder Kieron Pollard has retired from international cricket and no longer plays in the IPL. Despite this, the power of his bat is still evident in other T20 leagues around the world. Currently, the 38-year-old Pollard is active in his domestic Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and is a part of the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Recently, he played an unbeaten knock of 19 runs off just 9 balls against Barbados Royals at the Brian Lara Stadium, providing stability to the team and adding another major achievement to his name.

Pollard's Stellar T20 Achievement

Kieron Pollard has retired from international cricket and is no longer playing in the IPL. Nevertheless, he continues to captivate audiences with his explosive batting in T20 leagues globally. He is currently playing in his domestic Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and is a key player for the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Recently, at the Brian Lara Stadium against Barbados Royals, Pollard played an unbeaten innings of 19 runs in just 9 balls. With this innings, he achieved the distinction of becoming only the second batsman to complete 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. Previously, this record was held solely by fellow West Indian Chris Gayle. Pollard's statistics are also incredibly impressive. He has played 632 innings in 711 T20 matches to date. In these matches, his average has been around 32 runs with a strike rate of 151. During this period, he has also scored 1 century and 64 half-centuries.

CPL Match Update

On the day of Pollard's achievement, Trinbago Knight Riders secured a 7-wicket victory against Barbados Royals. Batting first, the Royals posted 178 runs for 6 wickets. Sherfane Rutherford was the highest scorer for the Royals, playing under the captaincy of Rovman Powell, with 45 runs, while captain Powell contributed 31 runs. Andre Russell took 3 crucial wickets with the ball.

Chasing the target, the Knight Riders won the match by 7 wickets with 13 balls remaining. Colin Munro top-scored with 66 runs, and captain Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten on 65, guiding the team to victory.
