With this innings, he achieved the distinction of becoming only the second batsman to complete 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. Previously, this record was held solely by fellow West Indian Chris Gayle. Pollard's statistics are also incredibly impressive. He has played 632 innings in 711 T20 matches to date. In these matches, his average has been around 32 runs with a strike rate of 151. During this period, he has also scored 1 century and 64 half-centuries.

On the day of Pollard's achievement, Trinbago Knight Riders secured a 7-wicket victory against Barbados Royals. Batting first, the Royals posted 178 runs for 6 wickets.
