Madhya Pradesh Assembly Disrupted Over Minister's Alleged Insult of Military Officer

The Congress party created an uproar in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, demanding the dismissal of Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah. The minister is accused of insulting a female military officer. The House proceedings had to be adjourned.

MP News: The monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly became a focal point of commotion on Friday when opposition parties staged a vigorous protest demanding the dismissal of Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah. The opposition leveled serious allegations against the minister for allegedly insulting a female military officer, leading to the disruption of House proceedings.

Dispute Began with Question on Bhopal Gas Tragedy

The entire matter began when Congress MLA Arif Masood asked questions related to the rehabilitation and relief efforts for the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy. As Minister Vijay Shah stood up to answer the question, Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya suddenly raised the issue of the alleged insult of a female military officer and confronted the minister. He alleged that Minister Vijay Shah had recently misbehaved with a female military officer.

Opposition Protest, Sloganeering, and Demonstration in Front of the Speaker's Chair

Following Baraiya's allegations, other opposition MLAs also united on this issue and began chanting slogans. All opposition members came in front of the Speaker's chair and started demanding the minister's dismissal. Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam appealed to all members to return to their seats and allow the Question Hour to proceed, but the situation could not be controlled. The uproar escalated, and the proceedings were disrupted.

Ruling Party Counterattacks, BJP MLAs Also Chant Slogans

During the uproar, the ruling party did not back down either. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya retaliated against the Congress, saying that those who used to insult the army are now talking about respecting the army. He also accused the Congress of supporting Pakistan and China. This prompted BJP MLAs to also chant slogans, creating a chaotic atmosphere in the House.

Assembly Speaker Adjourned the Proceedings

Due to the continuous uproar, the Assembly Speaker adjourned the House proceedings for some time. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was also present in the House during this time, but he did not make any statement on the controversy.
