A dispute over a dowry motorcycle has come to light in Chhatarpur. The wife allegedly went to her in-laws' house, engaged in a physical altercation, and took the motorcycle with her. The victim husband has filed a complaint with the police, citing a threat to his life.
Madhya Pradesh: A serious domestic dispute has emerged in the new Chandrapura neighborhood of the Civil Lines police station area in Chhatarpur district. Laxman Kushwaha, a resident of the area, married Roshni Kushwaha on March 4, 2024. The couple lived together for approximately 10 months after the marriage. Initially, everything was normal, but disagreements between the families gradually increased over time.
According to information, on December 27, 2024, Roshni had a dispute with her in-laws over an unspecified matter. The argument escalated, leading Roshni to leave her in-laws' house with her father, Kishanlal Kushwaha, and return to her parental home. Since then, the husband and wife have been living separately.
Assault at In-laws' House
The matter resurfaced on January 2, 2026, nearly 10 months later, when Roshni arrived at her in-laws' house on a motorcycle with her father and some other individuals. It is alleged that Roshni and those accompanying her immediately began arguing with her in-laws upon arrival. The argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
During the altercation, a dispute also arose regarding the motorcycle given as dowry. It is reported that when the keys to the motorcycle were not provided, Roshni tied the dowry motorcycle to another motorcycle and forcibly took it with her. A video of the entire incident has also surfaced and is now rapidly going viral on social media. The video shows a scuffle with the in-laws and people taking the motorcycle away.
Husband Fears for His Life
Following the incident, the victim husband, Laxman Kushwaha, filed a complaint at the Civil Lines police station. Laxman states that he fears for his life from his wife and her family. He told the police that he wants to live with his wife and save his marital life. According to Laxman, his in-laws consistently interfered in their marital life, leading to increased tension and arguments in the household. He alleged that this is why his marital life deteriorated, and he is now receiving threats.
Police state that an investigation has been initiated based on the complaint. The viral video is also being investigated to clarify what transpired during the incident. Police are recording statements from both parties and will take further action based on the facts. Currently, this matter is a topic of discussion in the area, and people are expressing concern over domestic disputes spilling out onto the streets.
