Manchester Super Giants won the 2026 Men’s Hundred title by defeating Trent Rockets by five wickets in the final at Lord’s. The victory marked the franchise’s first men’s Hundred title. Manchester chased a target of 159, scoring 162/5 in 19.3 balls to complete the win with two balls remaining.
The franchise had previously reached the final twice but failed to win the title on both occasions. For the 2026 season, Manchester Originals were renamed Manchester Super Giants, and the team won its first title under the new name.
New Zealand batter Tim Seifert was Manchester Super Giants’ leading performer, scoring 72 runs from 38 balls. His innings included seven sixes and four fours, and he reached his half-century in just 23 balls.
Seifert attacked the Trent Rockets bowlers from the beginning and maintained a high scoring rate. His aggressive batting put Manchester in a b position during the chase. Although his dismissal increased the pressure on Manchester, his innings had established the foundation for the victory.
After Seifert’s dismissal, Manchester came under pressure as they required quick runs in the final stages. Trent Rockets’ bowlers attempted to regain control of the contest.
Mohammad Amir dismissed Heinrich Klaasen and Michael Bracewell off successive balls, bringing Trent Rockets back into contention. Ben Sanderson then bowled two consecutive dot balls to increase the pressure on Manchester.
Manchester required three runs from the final three balls. Liam Dawson responded by hitting the next ball over mid-wicket for a six, securing the victory. Manchester finished on 162/5 in 19.3 balls to win the final by five wickets.
Trent Rockets batted first and scored 158/8 from their allotted 100 balls. Their start was not entirely dominant, but their batters accelerated during the middle and final stages to establish a challenging total.
Aneurin Donald scored 38 from 19 balls, while Lewis Gregory made 32 from 16 balls. Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 20. Their contributions helped Trent Rockets set Manchester a target of 159.
Manchester Super Giants’ bowlers restricted Trent Rockets from reaching a higher total. Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad was the team’s most successful bowler, taking three wickets for 33 runs.
Noor Ahmad’s bowling helped restrict Trent Rockets’ scoring rate. Sonny Baker also claimed two wickets to provide Manchester with important breakthroughs. The combined bowling effort restricted Trent Rockets to a total that Manchester ultimately chased successfully.
Seifert received an important reprieve during his 72-run innings when he avoided dismissal on 33. He played the ball towards the leg side, and Finn Allen attempted to take the catch near the boundary.
Allen returned the ball to the field, but a replay showed that his foot had touched the boundary rope. Following the third umpire’s decision, the shot was awarded as a six. Seifert therefore survived and continued his innings in an increasingly aggressive manner.
The incident became one of the important moments of the final, as Seifert strengthened Manchester’s position after receiving the reprieve. His 72-run innings ultimately became the decisive individual performance of the match.

Manchester captain Jos Buttler also contributed during the early stages of the chase. He scored 23 runs from 14 balls, including three sixes.
Buttler and Seifert gave Manchester early momentum. After Buttler was dismissed, Seifert continued to attack and moved Manchester closer to the target. The middle order then managed the innings under pressure before Dawson sealed the victory with the match-winning six.
The victory was Manchester Super Giants’ first men’s Hundred trophy. The team had previously competed in the tournament as Manchester Originals. The franchise was renamed Manchester Super Giants for the 2026 season.
After the change in name and identity, the team won the title. The franchise had previously reached the final in 2022 and on another occasion without winning the trophy. This time, Manchester completed the chase under pressure to claim the title.
Trent Rockets had an opportunity to win both the men’s and women’s titles during the season. Their women’s team had already won the women’s title by defeating Sunrisers Leeds in the final.
The men’s team subsequently reached the final but lost to Manchester Super Giants by five wickets. The defeat ended Trent Rockets’ chance of winning both men’s and women’s titles on the same day.
Trent Rockets posted 158, but Seifert’s 72-run innings and Dawson’s six in the final stages turned the contest in Manchester’s favour.
Manchester Super Giants scored 162/5 in 19.3 balls to win the title. Seifert’s 72 and Dawson’s decisive six were the key performances in Manchester’s five-wicket victory.
