Siraj's Brilliance at the Oval
In the Oval Test match, Mohammed Siraj took 9 wickets for 190 runs against England. He was chosen as the 'Player of the Match' for this performance. India won this match by a very narrow margin of just 6 runs, which is India's smallest run win in Test cricket. On the final day of the match, Siraj also shattered England's last hopes and led India to victory by dismissing Gus Atkinson.
In the latest ICC Test bowling rankings, Mohammed Siraj has jumped 12 places and is now at the 15th position. This is his best ranking in his Test career so far. Previously, Siraj's best ranking was 16th in January 2024, which he has now surpassed.
Prasidh Krishna Also Shines
Prasidh Krishna, who partnered with Siraj in bowling in this Test match, has also benefited in the rankings. He has reached the best 59th ranking of his career. Both bowlers took four or more wickets in both innings of the match, thus becoming the second Indian pair to do so in a Test. Earlier, this achievement was achieved by Bishan Singh Bedi and Erapalli Prasanna in 1969.
In the Oval Test, England's fast bowlers Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue also performed brilliantly. Both took 8 wickets each in the match and jumped in their ICC rankings. Atkinson has entered the top 10 for the first time, while Tongue has climbed 14 places to reach number 46.

He is followed by Kagiso Rabada (South Africa) at second, Pat Cummins (Australia) at third, Matt Henry (New Zealand) at fourth, and Josh Hazlewood (Australia) at fifth.
