A mother and son, who were on their way to testify in court, were crushed to death by a car in Baran district, Rajasthan, due to an old land dispute. It is alleged that the incident was a premeditated conspiracy. Police have registered a murder case and detained suspects for questioning.
Baran: An incident emerged from Baran district of Rajasthan on Thursday that shook the entire region. A mother and son, who were on their way to testify in court, were crushed to death by a car. Family members allege that this was not a mere road accident but a murder conspired due to an old land dispute. Following the incident, there is deep anger among family members and villagers, while the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Tragic Death of Mother-Son Duo En Route to Testimony
According to information, 35-year-old Sanjay Meena, a resident of Kotri village, was riding a motorcycle with his 55-year-old mother Rukminibai, on their way to Baran Court. Rukminibai was scheduled to testify on Thursday in an old dispute case. Around 10 AM, as they reached near Bhool Bhulaiya Chowraha on NH-27, a speeding car violently collided with their bike.
The collision was so severe that both the mother and son fell onto the road, and the car ran over them multiple times. Both died on the spot. After the accident, people nearby, hearing screams, rushed to the scene and informed the police and ambulance. The police arrived, placed the bodies in the hospital morgue, and later handed them over to the family after post-mortem.
Land Dispute Claims Two More Lives
Police investigation has revealed that an old land dispute between two factions in Kotri village is behind this murder. One faction belongs to Ramkumar Meena, while the other is associated with Purushottam Meena's family. Tensions over land had been ongoing between these two for many years.
It is said that a young man named Mukut Meena had also died some years ago due to this very dispute. At that time, Mukut had succumbed to his injuries during treatment after being severely wounded in a fight. Since then, the animosity between the two families had deepened. Now, this dispute has taken another serious turn, claiming the lives of a mother and son.
Allegations of Murder Conspiracy
DSP Omendra Singh Shekhawat stated that complainant Sukhveer Meena has lodged a report. According to him, some time ago, his family was assaulted after intruders entered their home. The hearing and testimony for this case were scheduled for Thursday in court, where Rukminibai was a crucial witness.
The complainant has alleged that Purushottam Meena, Shishupal, and Chandraprakash conspired this act due to old animosity. Their sons, Vinod alias Monu, Neeraj Lashkari, Deshraj Bairwa, and Golu, are accused of hitting the motorcycle with a car, resulting in the death of the mother and son. Police have registered a report and commenced the search for the main accused, while some suspects have also been detained for questioning.
Outcry Among Family Members After Murder
Upon learning of the incident, family members and villagers arrived at the hospital in large numbers and expressed their anger. Family members protested, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. Additional police forces had to be deployed to control the situation.
This case has become a major challenge for the police, as the incident has not only reignited old animosity between two families but has also created a tense atmosphere throughout the area. Currently, the police have registered a murder case and commenced an investigation, with raids being conducted for the arrest of the accused.
