Motihari (Bihar). A tragic incident in Bediwan Madhuban village, under the Pipra police station area of Motihari, has shaken the entire region. On Wednesday night, the priest of the village's famous Shiva temple was brutally murdered by stabbing. The priest's body was found in a pool of blood inside the temple complex on Thursday morning, leading to a commotion in the area.
A crowd of local people gathered at the scene and immediately informed the police. The Pipra police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it to the Motihari Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Arrest of Two Accused
Based on a written complaint from the deceased priest's family, the police have arrested two villagers—Rahul Kumar (father: Sunil Singh) and Anil Kumar Singh (father: late Prasiddha Narayan Singh). Interrogation of both is ongoing, while the police team is continuously conducting raids to search for the third named accused.
Chakia SDPO and Pipra Station Officer inspected the scene and thoroughly investigated the entire matter. Considering the tense situation in the village, a large police force has been deployed to maintain peace.
SP Reveals Suspicion of Land Dispute
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Motihari, Swarna Prabhat, issued a statement on the matter, stating that the initial investigation suggests that the murder is related to a land dispute. However, the police are investigating every aspect and will reveal the entire case soon.
He said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, the Pipra Station Officer and Chakia SDPO were sent to the spot. The situation is currently under control, and monitoring has been increased to maintain law and order in the village.
Police Conducting Investigation with Caution
After this incident, there is anger among the villagers. People are in sorrow and anger over the brutal murder of the priest. The police have appealed to the local people to maintain peace and assured them that the culprits will be punished as soon as possible.
