Prime Minister Narendra Modiedinipur, Asansol, and Birbhum, as the Bharatiya Janata Party intensifies its campaign. In Assam, Congress candidate Suren Daimari has left the party ahead of voting, though his name remains on the ballot.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address three election rallies in West Bengal on Thursday, intensifying political activity in the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party is focusing on consolidating its support in areas where it has previously performed well while also seeking to expand its presence in regions considered bholds of the Trinamool Congress.

Modi’s first rally is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Haldia township in the Purba Medinipur district, which is regarded as an area of influence of Suvendu Adhikari. He will subsequently address a public meeting at the Polo Ground outdoor stadium in Asansol, followed by a third rally in Suri in Birbhum district.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has recorded b performances in Purba Medinipur, while Birbhum has long been considered a Trinamool Congress bhold. The rallies are part of the party’s campaign efforts to maintain its existing voter base and attract new voters.

Political analysts state that the campaign has been strategically planned with upcoming elections in view, with the party aiming to strengthen its electoral position across both established and new constituencies.

In Assam, a day before voting, the Indian National Congress faced a development as its candidate from the Udalguri seat, Suren Daimari, decided to leave the party. The Congress stated that it has not yet received his formal resignation.

According to an Election Commission official, the deadline for withdrawal of nominations has already passed, and Daimari’s name will remain on the electronic voting machine. Voters will therefore still be able to cast their votes in his favour despite his decision to distance himself from the party.

The development comes during the final phase of the Assam election process. Political observers state that such developments can influence voter behaviour and electoral outcomes.

The ongoing developments in West Bengal and Assam hold significance for national politics. While the Bharatiya Janata Party is intensifying its campaign efforts in West Bengal, the Congress is facing internal developments in Assam.

Prime Minister Modi’s rallies are also viewed as conveying political messaging beyond the state level, with his speeches addressing development, nationalism, and regional issues.
