New GST Rates Slash Smart TV Prices by Up to ₹85,000 for Navratri 2025; Sony, LG, Panasonic Announce Cuts

New GST rates have come into effect from the first day of Navratri 2025, leading to a reduction in Smart TV prices ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹85,000. Companies including Sony, LG, and Panasonic have lowered prices, offering customers a significant opportunity to save on expensive TVs during the festive season.

GST 2.0: New GST rates came into effect on September 27, the first day of Navratri 2025, providing relief from inflation to the general public. The government has reduced GST on Smart TVs from 28% to 18%. Following this change, major TV manufacturers like Sony, LG, and Panasonic have cut prices of their various models by ₹2,500 to ₹85,000. This move will prove highly beneficial for customers purchasing TVs and other home entertainment products during the festive season.

Sony, LG, and Panasonic Lower TV Prices

Sony India has reduced prices of its Bravia TV models, ranging from 43-inch to 98-inch screen sizes, by ₹5,000 to ₹71,000. The 43-inch Bravia 2 is now priced at ₹54,900, the 55-inch Bravia 7 at ₹2.50 lakh, and the 98-inch Bravia 5 at ₹8.29 lakh.

LG Electronics India has announced price reductions of ₹2,500 to ₹85,800 on its Smart TV models, ranging from 43-inch to 100-inch screen sizes. The 43-inch model is now available for ₹28,490, while the 55-inch and 65-inch models will be available for ₹42,990 and ₹68,490 respectively.

Panasonic has cut prices of its TV models by ₹3,000 to ₹32,000. The 43-inch models are now priced between ₹33,990, ₹45,990, and ₹54,290. The 55-inch models will be available from ₹65,990 to ₹76,990, and the price of the 75-inch top model has been reduced from ₹4 lakh to ₹3.68 lakh.

Anticipated Sales and Festive Impact

Sales in the TV industry remained largely stable during the first half of this fiscal year (April to September), but with the implementation of new GST rates on the first day of Navratri and the onset of the festive season, companies anticipate an increase in sales. The price reductions are expected to boost demand for Smart TVs, and a surge in sales of soundbars, party speakers, and other home entertainment products is also projected.

With these new GST changes and price cuts by TV companies, customers can take advantage of better deals on Smart TVs and other entertainment products from their favorite brands during the festive season. This opportunity could prove highly attractive and a timely saving for consumers.
