Mohan Bhagwat: India Must Solve Its Own Problems, Not Bow to Foreign Pressure on H1B Visas

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday delivered a clear message for India in the context of H1B visas and American policies. Bhagwat stated that India must find solutions to its own problems and should not succumb to any foreign pressure.

New Delhi: Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Sunday made a significant statement regarding American decisions on H1B visas. Bhagwat said that India should take all necessary steps to overcome emerging challenges. However, at the same time, to avoid such problems in the future, the country must forge its own path by adhering to the eternal vision of development and progress.

Addressing a book launch ceremony, he stated that the current problems facing India and the world are a result of a 2000-year-old system based on a fragmented view of development and happiness.

It is Essential to Solve Our Own Problems

Speaking at a book launch event, Bhagwat said that the current problems in the world are a result of a fragmented perspective that has persisted for the past 2000 years, viewing development and happiness from a limited viewpoint. He emphasized, "We cannot turn away from the situation. We must do whatever is necessary to get out of it. But we cannot proceed blindly. Therefore, we must carve our own path."

Bhagwat also stated that at some point in the future, we will again face these problems, as this fragmented perspective always maintains a distinction between ‘I’ and ‘the rest of the world’.

Adherence to the Four Goals of Life

Mohan Bhagwat said that India should adhere to the four goals of life – Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. He clarified that Artha (wealth) and Kama (desire and pleasure) are not denied but should be bound by Dharma so that no one is left behind. Bhagwat stated, "Dharma does not mean a method of worship. It is the moral and cultural framework that maintains balance in life. And the rule that oversees all of this is the natural law. It is essential to follow it."

Bhagwat recalled a conversation in the US three years ago, where possibilities for India-US partnership, security, counter-terrorism, and economic cooperation were discussed. He mentioned that during the discussions, the American side repeatedly stated, "provided American interests are secured." Bhagwat explained, "Everyone has different interests, so conflict will continue. But it's not just national interest that matters. I also have an interest. I want to keep everything in my hands."

Environment and Global Commitments

The RSS chief said that India has fulfilled all its commitments on environmental issues. He questioned who else has done so, as there is no authentic proof in this regard. Bhagwat stated, "He who is at the top of the food chain will eat everyone, and to be at the bottom is a crime. Therefore, we must view our interests and strategy in a balanced way."

Highlighting India's wars and conflicts from 1947 to the present, Bhagwat said that if we had to fight in every confrontation, we would have been fighting continuously. But we endured all this. We did not allow war to happen. Many times, we even helped those who opposed our policies.
