Nitish Kumar Launches Development Projects and Reviews Sports Preparations in Nalanda

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for a 862 crore four-lane project in Nalanda, inaugurated the Rajgir ROB, and inspected preparations for the Asia Under-20 Rugby Championship.

Bihar: During his one-day visit to Nalanda, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gifted the district several significant development projects. He laid the foundation stone for the four-lane highway project, costing 862 crore 63 lakh rupees. This four-lane road will start from Salepur and pass through Nursarai, Ahiyapur, and Silao, ending in Rajgir. The construction of this road will further facilitate traffic to Rajgir, providing better facilities for local people, tourists, and players alike.

Inauguration of 81 Crore Railway Overbridge

Following this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the railway overbridge (ROB) built at a cost of 81 crore rupees on the Biharsharif-Rajgir road. This bridge had been a long-standing demand of the local public. With its commissioning, traffic will be expedited and relief from traffic jams will be provided. The bridge was opened to the public immediately after the inauguration.

Review of preparations for sports competition in Rajgir

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also inspected the preparations for the Asia Under-20 Rugby Sevens Championship at the sports complex in Rajgir. This competition will be held from August 8 to 10. Indian men's and women's teams have already arrived at the venue. Teams from other countries will arrive on August 7. The Chief Minister closely observed the arrangements for the event and instructed the officials that there should be no shortcomings at any level.

Inspection of Royal Bhutan Monastery

During this visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the under-construction Royal Bhutan Monastery. This monastery is considered a symbol of the b bilateral relations between India and Bhutan. In 2009, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar donated two and a half acres of land to the Bhutan government for this project. He laid its foundation stone in 2018. Now, this monastery is nearing completion and will soon be opened to the general public.

Important step in the direction of development

This visit of Nitish Kumar is considered extremely important from the point of view of the development of the district and international sports events. This initiative can prove to be important in the direction of developing Nalanda as a tourism, sports and cultural center.

Several senior leaders and officers were present with the Chief Minister on this visit. These included Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, MP Kaushlendra Kumar, MLC Reena Yadav, Rajgir MLA Kaushal Kumar, Harnaut MLA Hari Narayan Singh, Engineer Sunil, District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, and SP Bharat Soni were prominently present.
