Nitish Kumar took the oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, were present. Security arrangements were tight at the ceremony, and all eyes were on the political message of the new NDA government.

Bihar Cabinet: Nitish Kumar took the oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time at a grand ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy to him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, along with Chief Ministers of several states and NDA leaders, were present at the ceremony. Nitish Kumar has previously served as Chief Minister in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2024, and by taking the oath for the 10th time, he has further strengthened his political role in the state.

Full Program of the Oath-Taking Ceremony

The atmosphere at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan was highly enthusiastic from the morning. Special security and protocol arrangements were made on the stage. Chief Ministers from almost all NDA-ruled states were present at the ceremony. As Nitish Kumar arrived on the stage, a roar of applause was heard. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy to him after the formal procedure. After taking the oath, Nitish Kumar greeted his coalition leaders and expressed gratitude for the public's support.

Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha Become Deputy Chief Ministers

During the oath-taking ceremony, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha took the oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. Both leaders held the same positions in the previous government as well. Along with them, several senior JDU and BJP MLAs took the oath as ministers, including Vijay Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Shrawan Kumar, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Jaiswal, and Ashok Choudhary. With the formation of the cabinet, the government signaled that administrative stability and continuity would be prioritized.

Nishant Kumar Congratulates His Father

Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, was also present at the ceremony. He stated that he congratulates his father on taking the oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time. Nishant also said that the public has given more support than expected, and he thanks the public for this. His statement was considered significant on both political and family levels.

Presence of Prominent NDA Leaders

The presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the most discussed aspect of the oath-taking ceremony. Along with him, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and several Union Ministers joined him on stage. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Uttarakhand's Pushkar Singh Dhami, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Rajasthan's Bhajanlal Sharma, and Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis also arrived in Patna.

Tight Security Arrangements at Gandhi Maidan

Heavy security was deployed at Gandhi Maidan and its surrounding areas for the ceremony. Traffic plans were also altered due to VIP movement. The administration had reviewed the security arrangements for the entire area in advance to ensure no inconvenience to guests attending the event.

Nitish Kumar's Political Journey

This is the 10th oath-taking for 74-year-old Nitish Kumar. He first became Chief Minister in 2000, though his government lasted only 8 days at that time. After that, he continuously held power from 2005 to 2014. In 2014, after a poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, he resigned but returned to power a few months later. In January 2024, he rejoined the NDA and became Chief Minister for the 9th time. Now, by taking the oath for the 10th time, he has added a new chapter to his political journey.
