Noida police apprehended two real brothers involved in theft during an encounter on Wednesday night, one of whom sustained a gunshot wound. Both have 15 criminal cases registered against them and worked together, surveying houses before committing thefts. The police recovered a pistol, cartridges, cash, and stolen goods.
UP News: Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has once again proven that those who commit crimes belong behind bars. Last night, an encounter took place between the police and two notorious thieves in the Sector-49 police station area of Noida. During this encounter, one thief was shot, while the other was arrested at the scene. Surprisingly, these two cunning criminals turned out to be real brothers who had been carrying out thefts and other criminal activities for a long time.
Major Revelation During Night Checking
According to the police, on Wednesday night, a team from Sector-49 police station was conducting vehicle checks by setting up a barrier under the Sector-76 metro station. At that time, two young men were seen approaching on a suspicious Splendor motorcycle. When the police signaled them to stop, both men turned the bike around and tried to flee. The police were already suspicious of them, so they were pursued. Near Sector-50, the bike skidded and both fell. Seeing themselves surrounded, both of them launched a deadly attack on the police. They opened fire on the police, in response to which the police also fired.
Injured in Encounter, Second Apprehended
In the retaliatory action taken by the police, one miscreant was shot in the leg. He was immediately arrested and sent to the hospital for treatment. The injured individual was identified as Gaurav (26), a resident of village Morna, Noida. Meanwhile, the second miscreant was trying to escape but was caught by the police during combing operations. He was identified as Saurabh (20), who is Gaurav's younger brother.
Criminal History: 15 Cases and Fearless Incidents
Noida DCP informed that Gaurav has more than 10 criminal cases registered against him in various police stations of Noida, including charges of theft, possession of weapons, robbery, and assault. Saurabh also has 5 cases registered against him. Together, these two had committed dozens of incidents and had been evading the police until now. The police stated that both were experts in reconnaissance and only targeted deserted houses. They would conduct reconnaissance during the day and carry out thefts in the darkness of the night.
Weapons and Stolen Goods Recovered
After the encounter, the police recovered a large quantity of objectionable material from the scene. An illegal pistol (.315 bore), a live cartridge and an empty shell, Rs 3400 in cash, and a looted Samsung mobile phone were recovered from Gaurav. A bag was found with Saurabh containing 15 steel water taps, Rs 3100 in cash, and the Splendor motorcycle used in the incident.
Strategy and Possibility of Organized Gang
Police suspect that this may not be an ordinary case of theft but rather the activity of an organized gang. The way the real brothers were carrying out the incidents in a planned manner suggests that there may be other accomplices behind them. This matter is being thoroughly investigated, and information on their criminal records is being shared with other districts and states.
Could Not Escape the Law
This action by the police has made it clear that there is no place for criminals in Uttar Pradesh. The promptness and courageous action of the Noida police not only caught two dangerous criminals but also established confidence in peace and security in the area.
Police Appeal: Be Vigilant, Cooperate
DCP Noida has appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity around their homes and neighborhoods to the police. He said that crime can only be controlled through b cooperation between society and the police.
