Class 10th Examination Now Twice a Year
CBSE has also announced that from the year 2026, the Class 10th board examinations will be conducted twice. The first examination will be in February 2026 and the second examination will be in May 2026.
Key Points:
- Appearing for the first examination (main examination) will be mandatory.
- If a student does not appear in three subjects in the main examination, then he/she will not be eligible to sit for the second examination.
- Students who have compartment or supplementary will also be able to appear in the second examination.
- The syllabus for both the examinations will remain the same.
- Students who pass can reappear for the examination to improve their marks in three subjects.
How the New Rules Will Affect Students
This new decision by CBSE will give students an additional opportunity to improve their performance. Also, students with compartments have been given another opportunity to pass the exam.
However, the board has made it clear that appearing for the first examination will be mandatory. The objective is to ensure that students prepare for the examination on time and prioritize the main examination.
Sample Papers Will Be Helpful in Exam Preparation
The sample papers released by CBSE will help students in understanding the exam pattern, types of questions, style of answering, and strategies such as time management. This will give students an opportunity to perform better in the actual board examination.
