Bundi: Police in Rajasthan's Bundi district have arrested a Pakistani youth on charges of illegal infiltration, in an action that surprised security agencies. The youth has been identified as Irfan (35), reportedly a resident of Alamsa village in Pakistan's Punjab province. A large quantity of Euros, Indian currency, and several railway tickets were recovered from him. Currently, police and intelligence agencies are subjecting him to intensive questioning.
Suspect Admitted to Hospital After Falling from Train
According to the police, the case came to light when Irfan suddenly fell from a train on the Delhi-Mumbai railway route. Despite sustaining head and arm injuries, he walked approximately three kilometers to reach the government hospital in Keshoraipatan town. During his treatment, his conversation seemed suspicious, after which the hospital administration immediately informed the police.
Police arrived at the scene and took the youth into custody. Initially, he tried to conceal his identity, but under strict interrogation, he revealed himself to be from Pakistan. Upon hearing this, the police were stunned and immediately escalated the matter to higher authorities.
Large Amount of Cash and Tickets Recovered from Suspect
During the search, police found approximately 1920 Euros (equivalent to about 2 lakh Indian rupees) and 46,000 rupees in Indian currency in Irfan's possession. Additionally, more than half a dozen railway tickets were recovered, including a general ticket from Sawai Madhopur to Mumbai and tickets issued from several districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Most surprisingly, no passport or valid identification card was found with him. Police suspect that he had been living in India for a long time and traveling to different places. It is also being investigated how he acquired such a large amount of cash and foreign currency.
Intelligence Agencies Interrogate Suspect Irfan
Considering the seriousness of the case, Bundi police immediately informed intelligence agencies. Additional SP Uma Sharma herself arrived at the police station and supervised the interrogation. Subsequently, central and state intelligence teams also reached Keshoraipatan.
Police officials state that Irfan is constantly changing his statements. Sometimes he identifies himself as a laborer, sometimes as a tourist. The contradictions in his statements have deepened the suspicion. Security agencies are thoroughly investigating his network and contacts.
