PM Modi in West Bengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth over ₹5,400 crore in Durgapur, West Bengal. Addressing a public gathering on this occasion, he reiterated the goal of a developed India by 2047 and said that these schemes will greatly improve Bengal's connectivity, industrial base and employment opportunities. He also launched a scathing attack on the state's TMC government.

Grand Welcome for PM Modi in Durgapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Durgapur on Friday as part of his West Bengal tour, where he dedicated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹5,400 crore. Addressing a huge public meeting on this occasion, he assured the people of the state that the central government is working with full commitment for the development of Bengal.

Special Emphasis on Connectivity and Infrastructure

Prime Minister Modi said in his address that the main objective of these schemes is to improve the connectivity of Bengal. He informed that the projects for which the foundation stone was laid and inaugurated include several important projects such as gas-based transport system, railway infrastructure, and overbridges.

New Momentum for Rail Network

While discussing the works being done in the railway sector in West Bengal, PM Modi said that this state is among those regions of the country where the maximum number of Vande Bharat trains are being run. He described the expansion of Kolkata Metro and modernization of railway stations as the priority of the central government.

Roadmap for Developed India by 2047

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi once again reiterated the resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047. He said that today the entire country is going through a period of change and India's development model is being discussed in the world.

He emphasized that the rapid changes taking place in India's infrastructure are the foundation of the developed India that is being imagined today. He said that our path is - empowerment through development, self-reliance through employment and good governance through sensitivity.

Talk of Big Dreams for Bengal

The Prime Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has seen big dreams for West Bengal. He said that BJP's goal is to build a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Bengal. He further said that the schemes that have been started today are not just buildings or structures but an attempt to bring Bengal back into the mainstream of development.

Concern over Employment Situation in Bengal

In his speech, PM Modi also prominently raised the problem of increasing migration in Bengal. He said that once people from all over the country used to come to Bengal for work, but now the youth of Bengal are forced to go out of the state in search of employment.

He said that this situation should change and the central government is fully committed to it. He also said that today's announcements are an important step in that direction.

Sharp Attack on TMC Government

Targeting the current government of West Bengal, the Prime Minister said that the TMC government has become the biggest obstacle in the development of Bengal. He said that unless this wall is broken, Bengal will not be able to move forward in the race for development.

In his address, PM made an emotional appeal, “Today I have come to assure you that the situation in Bengal can be changed. After the formation of the BJP government, Bengal can be included among the top industrial states of the country in a few years. This is my firm belief.”
