PM Modi shared his thoughts on the significance of the Constitution by writing a letter to the countrymen on Constitution Day. He stated that the strength of the Constitution provided him the opportunity to become Prime Minister from an ordinary background and ensured equal opportunities in democracy.
Constitution Day: On the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the citizens, sharing his thoughts on the importance of the Constitution. In the letter, he also recounted his experiences from his political journey and expressed his reverence for the Constitution. PM Modi stated that the power of the Constitution granted him, an individual from a humble background, the opportunity to lead the government for a long time.
Every year, November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day across the country. On this special occasion, the Prime Minister explained in his letter how the Constitution has played a significant role in his life and in the nation's politics.
Constitution Provided Opportunity
Recalling his political journey in the letter, Prime Minister Modi said that the strength of the Constitution gave him an opportunity that was like a dream for an ordinary person. He stated that despite coming from a modest and economically backward family, he got the chance to continuously lead the government for over 24 years.
PM Modi said, “I still remember those moments from 2014 when I first entered Parliament. Touching the stairs of the greatest temple of democracy, I bowed my head and experienced the dignity of the Constitution.” He also mentioned that the Constitution inspired many people like him to dream and fulfill those dreams.

The 2019 Experience
PM Modi also shared his experience after the 2019 elections. He recounted that when he entered the Central Hall of the Parliament, he bowed his head and reverently placed the Constitution on his forehead. The Prime Minister described this as a symbolic experience, which gave him a profound understanding of the Constitution's significance and its ideals.
He further stated that the Constitution is not merely a piece of paper or a collection of laws, but it is the backbone of our democracy. This very Constitution provides equal opportunities to every individual and paves the way for their advancement according to their merit.
