A special awareness programme was organised in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on the second day of Police Week to convey a message on de-addiction. Police officers and personnel conducted a run on city roads to raise awareness against substance abuse.

The awareness rally, held in the morning, saw the participation of a large number of police personnel. Participants carried placards and banners displaying messages related to de-addiction. During the run, slogans such as “Quit Addiction, Embrace Life” and “Healthy Youth, Empowered Society” were used to spread awareness.

Police officials stated that addiction is one of the biggest challenges facing the future of youth today. They said that addiction to alcohol, drugs and other intoxicants affects not only an individual’s health but also families and society. They emphasised the need to make young people aware in time.

Local residents and students also participated in the rally. The police administration appealed to youth to avoid negative influences and focus on their life goals. Officials said that anyone facing issues related to addiction can contact the police or the concerned department to seek assistance.

Under Police Week, various social and public awareness programmes will also be organised in the coming days to establish better relations between the police and the general public and to bring positive change in society.
