The army received information about suspicious activities in the area, following which a large-scale search operation was launched. Earlier, three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were killed in Lidwas, Srinagar, under Operation Mahadev.

Information on Suspicious Activities in Degwar Sector, Poonch

Recently, information was received about suspicious activities near the Line of Control in the Degwar sector of the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. The army and intelligence agencies received input that some terrorists were trying to infiltrate from across the border. Following this information, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly cordoned off the entire area and launched a comprehensive search operation.

Two Terrorists Killed During Firing

During the search operation, terrorists hiding in the dense forests opened fire on the security forces. In retaliatory action, the army killed two terrorists. The encounter lasted for a few hours, after which the terrorists were neutralized. Currently, the search operation is still ongoing in the area to ensure that no other terrorists are hiding there.

Terrorists Were Trying to Infiltrate from Pakistan

Sources associated with the army say that both the terrorists killed came from Pakistan and were trying to infiltrate the Indian border. This encounter took place near the LoC when the terrorists tried to enter Indian territory. Such incidents prove that the threat of cross-border terrorism still persists.

Search Operation Intensified in Forests

After the encounter, security forces have further intensified the search operation in the forests of Poonch. Terrorists often look for routes to infiltrate these areas adjacent to the LoC. This is why patrolling and surveillance are being continuously strengthened by the army in this area. The operation is being carried out with the help of drones and sniffer dogs.

Three Terrorists Were Also Killed in Operation Mahadev

Earlier on Tuesday, the army killed three terrorists in the Lidwas area of Srinagar under 'Operation Mahadev'. This operation was conducted in the dense forests of Dachigam in Srinagar. The army had received information about these terrorists that they were involved in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. During the encounter, all three terrorists were killed, and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and rations were recovered from them.

Terrorists Were Associated with TRF

The army stated that all three terrorists killed in Srinagar were associated with 'The Resistance Front' (TRF). TRF is considered a front group of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. One of the terrorists killed has been identified as Musa, who was associated with Lashkar and had been active for a long time. The bodies of these terrorists were confirmed by drone. The encounter area was monitored through drone photography.

Increased Surveillance on the Line of Control

In view of the continuous infiltration attempts, the Indian Army has increased surveillance and vigilance on the Line of Control. With the help of technology, the areas near the LoC are now being monitored around the clock. Dense forests and difficult geographical conditions in these areas provide hiding places for terrorists, but the army's continuous operations are thwarting their plans.
