A dispute has emerged in Prayagraj involving a religious organisation linked to Ashutosh Maharaj and a local businessman regarding the payment for a Scorpio vehicle. The businessman has alleged that the organisation did not complete the payment and that a First Information Report was filed against him after he demanded the outstanding amount.
According to the businessman, the organisation had purchased a Scorpio vehicle some time ago. He said assurances were given initially that the payment would be made, but the full amount was not paid later.
The businessman stated that he repeatedly asked for the pending payment, but his requests were repeatedly deferred. He claimed that when he increased pressure to recover the outstanding amount, a police complaint was filed against him.
The businessman further alleged that the vehicle had been purchased in the name of a trust associated with the organisation and described the trust as suspicious. He said several discrepancies were present in the trust’s documents and alleged that it might be operating through fraudulent means.
He has demanded an impartial investigation into the entire matter so that the facts can be established.
The businessman said he had supplied the vehicle in good faith and believed the payment would be made on time. However, after several months passed without payment, he continued attempts to contact the organisation, but said he was given different explanations each time.
Following the escalation of the dispute, both sides began making allegations against each other. The businessman stated that demanding payment was not a crime and said he had been made an accused despite seeking his dues. He added that he was prepared to pursue a legal battle to seek justice.
Police have begun an investigation into the matter.
