Director Priyadarshan has sought increased remuneration for actor Rajpal Yadav in his upcoming comedy film amid the actor’s ongoing financial and legal difficulties. The request was made to the film’s producers, Jubilee Films, during the casting process and has been accepted.
Rajpal Yadav has been cast in the role of a villain in the film. Priyadarshan stated that, considering the actor’s current circumstances, he asked the producers to pay Yadav more than his usual fee. He described the decision as an effort for the industry to stand together during challenging times.
Priyadarshan said he has known Rajpal Yadav for the past 20 years and is familiar with his talent. He noted that Yadav’s portrayal of a villain in the upcoming comedy would present a different experience for audiences.
