It was a proud day for Indian wrestling on Thursday as Rachna (43 kg) and Ashwini Vishnoi (65 kg) won gold medals at the Under-17 World Championships, bringing glory to the nation.

Wrestling: Indian women wrestlers have put on a spectacular performance at the Under-17 Women's World Wrestling Championship 2025, making the country proud worldwide. In the matches held on Thursday, Rachna (43 kg) and Ashwini Vishnoi (65 kg) won gold medals, earning the title of world champions. Meanwhile, Moni (57 kg) faced defeat in the final in a very tough match and had to settle for a silver medal.

Rachna and Ashwini's Golden Performance

The biggest cause for joy in the Indian camp was that two young wrestlers won gold medals on the world championship stage. Rachna (43 kg category), displaying extremely controlled and aggressive wrestling, won the match 3-0 against Xin Huang of China. Ashwini Vishnoi (65 kg category) also showed her brilliance, defeating Mukhayyo Rakhimjonova of Uzbekistan 3-0 to win the gold medal. This victory for both wrestlers gives a new identity to India's young female wrestling talent on the global stage.

Moni's Excellent Performance, But Missed Gold

Moni, who was representing India in the women's 57 kg weight category, had a very exciting final match. She fought fiercely against Madkhia Usmanova of Kazakhstan, but ultimately lost by a close score of 5-6. However, winning her silver medal is also a matter of pride for the country.

From India, Komal Verma (49 kg category) won the bronze medal by defeating Enhelina Burkina with a score of 8-3. Komal's performance shows that there is no shortage of talent in Indian women's wrestling, and with proper guidance and training, they can bring glory to India at the world level.

Hope for Two More Golds: Yashita and Kajal

Good news for the Indian camp is also that two more wrestlers, Yashita (61 kg) and Kajal (73 kg), have reached the finals. This has secured two more medals for India, and it is hoped that they will also win gold medals and bring more glory to the country. Manisha (69 kg category) could not make it to the final, but she played brilliantly and will now compete for the bronze medal. Her hard work and struggle have already won the hearts of Indian fans.

However, Thursday was not equally successful for all Indian wrestlers. Preeti Yadav (40 kg) and Kashish Gurjar (46 kg) were eliminated from the competition after losing in the quarter-finals. Sarika (53 kg category) faced defeat against Rion Ogawa of Japan.
