Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh):
Located in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Bijethua Dham and its Makadi Kund are considered centers of faith and miracles. This site is especially dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Legend
It is believed that when Lord Hanuman was on his way to the Himalayas to fetch the Sanjeevani herb, the demon Kalnemi tried to stop him. Kalnemi used illusion to create a pond and conjured a swarm of spiders in it. His aim was that Lord Hanuman would get trapped there and be unable to complete his task.
But Lord Hanuman, with his strength and wisdom, slayed Kalnemi and sanctified the pond (Makadi Kund). Since then, this place has been known as Bijethua Dham and Makadi Kund.

Local Belief
A local belief also states that spiders here do not harm any devotee. This is why it is called “Makadi Kund.”
