Bihar: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi reached Muzaffarpur, Bihar, as part of his 'Voter Rights Yatra'. The purpose of this Yatra is to educate the public about the importance of the right to vote and transparency in elections. Other senior Congress leaders are also participating in the Yatra. Addressing the gathering, he expressed his concern about the increasing electoral malpractices and its impact on democracy in the country.
SP leader Tejashwi Yadav is also participating in the Yatra with Rahul Gandhi. In addition, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Priyanka Gandhi are also part of this Yatra. In the Muzaffarpur meeting, he directly addressed the Gujarat model and allegations of vote theft in other states.
Rahul Gandhi's Attack on Gujarat Model
In the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that the 'Gujarat Model' that is running in the country is actually a 'model of theft.' He said that this model is not limited to Gujarat only, but it has been implemented at the national level. He alleged that votes were stolen in the elections in Haryana and Maharashtra as well.
Rahul Gandhi also told the gathering that on the way he met a group of six-year-old children. The children chanted the slogan, "Narendra Modi is a vote thief." He said that even young children have understood that votes are being stolen in India.
He also launched a scathing attack on the central government and the Election Commission, saying that the soul of democracy is in danger in the country. Rahul Gandhi said that the Constitution gives every citizen the right to vote, but the votes of the poor, Dalits, backward and minority classes are being removed, while the votes of the rich are safe.

Giving the example of the 2014 and 2019 elections, Rahul Gandhi said that there was a huge difference between the opinion polls conducted before the elections and the actual results. He said that the model of vote theft that started in Gujarat was gradually implemented across the country.
He said that large-scale irregularities were detected from the voter list and video recordings in Maharashtra and Karnataka. About one lakh fake votes were found in one assembly constituency and thousands of duplicate names came to light. Rahul Gandhi claimed that these evidences show that the elections are not being held completely honestly.

Rahul Gandhi said that irregularities have taken place in the elections in Haryana and Maharashtra and Congress will bring its evidence before the public. He alleged that by making a new law, the Election Commission has been kept out of any action. Rahul Gandhi said that if everything was happening honestly, then there would have been no need for such a law.
