Winter Session of Parliament
The Winter Session of Parliament began on December 1st and is scheduled to conclude on December 19th. A total of 15 sittings have been scheduled for this session. Proceedings in both houses will resume on Monday, with discussions on pending bills and other important issues.
The session has witnessed heated debates between the opposition and the ruling party on several major issues. Notably, discussions surrounding ‘Vande Mataram’, voter list revisions, and electoral reforms have been prominent. These debates are not only impacting the legislative process but also maintaining a charged atmosphere in political circles.
A Turbulent Winter Session
The Winter Session has seen several instances of sharp exchanges between the opposition and the government. Debates regarding voter lists and electoral reforms have been particularly contentious. The Congress party has cornered the government over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and potential irregularities in the voter list.

The opposition claims that these revisions are affecting transparency and fairness in the voting process. In response, the ruling party has stated that all procedures under the revisions are legal and democratic. A lengthy debate on this issue continued in Parliament for several days.
Massive Congress Rally at Ramlila Maidan
Amidst the ongoing debates in Parliament, the Congress party organized a large rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday. The main objective of this rally was to garner public support against the Special Intensive Voter List Revision and to intensify the campaign against alleged vote theft.
Addressing the crowd at the rally, Rahul Gandhi emphasized electoral fairness and voter rights. He stated that the public needs to be aware of the irregularities occurring in the voter list.
Rahul Gandhi Targets the Election Commission
From Ramlila Maidan, Rahul Gandhi targeted both the BJP and the RSS for alleged interference in electoral processes. He accused them of financial transactions during elections and, in some cases, vote theft.
Rahul Gandhi also stated that the Indian Election Commission is colluding with the BJP. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made changes to the law to prevent any action against the Election Commissioner. This statement caused a stir in political circles.
