An era has ended in Rajasthan politics. Senior state leader and former minister Nandlal Meena has passed away. He remained active in Rajasthan politics for a long time and was always dedicated to public service.

Nandlal Meena entered politics in 1977 by winning the election from the Udaipur Rural assembly constituency. As a Janata Party candidate, his first victory was by a large margin of 10,445 votes. He received a total of 20,263 votes, while his closest rival, Jaynarayan, received only 9,818 votes. This victory laid the foundation for his long and successful political career.
His political career was a symbol of struggle, dedication, and public service. Nandlal Meena served as an MLA seven times and as an MP once. Additionally, he held ministerial positions in the Rajasthan government three times and worked on several important posts within the organization.
Family and Political Legacy
Nandlal Meena's family has also been active in political and social service. His wife, Sumitra Meena, served as the District Chief of Chittorgarh. His daughter-in-law, Sarika Meena, also held this responsibility. His son, Hemant Meena, is currently the Revenue Minister in the Rajasthan government. Although he faced defeat for the first time from the Pratapgarh assembly constituency, he won in the subsequent election and carried forward the political legacy.
Nandlal Meena's most significant distinction was that he never experienced defeat throughout his political career. His popularity and dedication to public service made him a respected and trustworthy leader in the state.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former minister Nandlal Meena. He stated, "The news of the passing of Cabinet Minister Hemant Meena ji's revered father and former Rajasthan government minister Nandlal Meena ji is extremely saddening. May God grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the grieving family members to bear this immense sorrow."
The Chief Minister also added that Nandlal Meena's political life was a symbol of struggle, dedication, and public service. With his demise, the state's politics has lost an experienced and popular public representative.
