Rajasthan Councillor Arrested for Land Fraud Using Forged Documents

Rajgarh Municipality Councillor Mahendra Dinodia was arrested in the Churu district of Rajasthan on charges of grabbing land by creating fake documents and a forged power of attorney. Police are questioning him on remand.

Churu: Mahendra Dinodia, a councillor of the Rajgarh Municipality in the Churu district of Rajasthan, has been arrested on charges of fraud in collusion with land mafia by preparing fake documents and a forged power of attorney. The police have taken the accused on remand and are continuing their interrogation. This incident has become a topic of widespread discussion among the local administration and the public.

The police stated that the case came to light when a person named Rajesh Kumar filed a complaint. The complaint alleged that there is a 3600 square yard plot of land in Rajgarh town, the lease of which belongs to Chanduram Motiramani. It is alleged that Mahendra Dinodia, in league with land mafia, prepared forged documents and attempted to occupy the land.

False Statement to Obtain Land Lease

The complaint stated that the accused, Sangeeta, Banwarilal, Mangturam, and Radheshyam, collectively prepared a forged agreement on January 6, 2016. Using this agreement, they were trying to obtain a lease for the land. When Rajesh Kumar discovered this fraud, he filed an objection with the municipality on October 6, 2023.

Police investigation revealed that the accused had also attempted to threaten Rajesh Kumar. Their objective was to obtain the land lease based on the forged agreement at any cost. This clearly indicates that the criminal plan was pre-meditated and that Councillor Mahendra Dinodia played a primary role.

Mahendra Dinodia Confirmed Documents

During the investigation, it was found that Sangeeta's lineage certificate was verified by the then Ward Councillor Teerthraj. Teerthraj stated that he had attested this document at the behest of Mahendra Dinodia. Mahendra not only confirmed the document with his seal and signature but also provided a photocopy of it.

Furthermore, Mahendra Dinodia, in collusion with an accused named Manoj, defrauded Rajesh of Rs 11 lakh through forged documents. According to the police, Mahendra Dinodia was the main conspirator of this entire plot and played an active role in preparing forged documents, getting them verified, and misappropriating funds.

Police Action and Interrogation

The Rajgarh police station team arrested Councillor Mahendra Dinodia (59) from Ward No. 18, Rajgarh. The police also seized the original declaration letter prepared by Manoj from the accused Mahendra. This declaration letter was made to cancel the forged power of attorney.

The police stated that the action was carried out under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Kishorilal and Assistant Superintendent of Police Abhijit Patil. An investigation is also underway against Mahendra Dinodia for property-related crimes and other charges involving land mafia. Currently, the interrogation of the accused on remand is ongoing, and the police are also searching for other suspects in this entire matter.

Public Expresses Concern Over Fraud

Following this incident, questions are being raised about the image of the Rajgarh Municipality and the local administration. People are stating that such fraud by an elected representative is a matter of concern.

Officials indicate that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway, and strict action will be taken against the culprits. The administration has assured that no leniency will be shown in cases involving land mafia and fake documents, and all culprits will be brought to justice.
