Ghoomar Venue: Rajasthan is set to sway today to the tunes of its rich folk culture and traditional dance, ‘Ghoomar’. The grand Ghoomar Festival-2025 will kick off on Wednesday, with the folk-cultural festival simultaneously beginning at 4:30 PM in seven major cities of the state—Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Bharatpur.
This marks the first time Rajasthan is immersing itself in the colours of Ghoomar on such a large scale simultaneously, and a remarkable atmosphere of excitement is palpable throughout the entire state.
Mega Event to be Held Simultaneously Across All Seven Divisions
Preparations for the Ghoomar Festival are complete across all seven divisions of Rajasthan. Thousands of participants in traditional attire will perform to the rhythm of Ghoomar in each city. The venues are as follows—
- Jaipur – Football Ground, Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium
- Ajmer – Sports Stadium, Samrat Prithviraj Government College
- Bharatpur – Vishwapriya Shastri Park
- Bikaner – Dr. Karni Singh Stadium
- Jodhpur – Government Ummed Stadium
- Kota – Shaurya Ghat, Chambal River Bank
- Udaipur – Bhandari Darshak Mandap
At all these locations, preparations for stage construction, sound systems, security arrangements, and audience facilities have been completed. From locals to tourists, there is immense excitement to witness this dance, often called the soul of Rajasthan's culture.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari Reviews Preparations
Ahead of the state-level event, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism, Art & Culture, Diya Kumari, visited Jaipur's Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium on Tuesday night. She conducted a thorough inspection of all arrangements, including stage setup, entry gates, security perimeters, technical setup, and rehearsals. She received separate reports from officials on each aspect and instructed that the event should not only be grand but also exemplify excellent organization and discipline.
Diya Kumari stated, "Ghoomar dance is the soul of Rajasthan. This festival will infuse new energy into our heritage and set a new direction for the tourism sector." According to Tourism Commissioner Rukmini Riar, this year's festival scope is many times larger than before. Over 1500 registrations have been received in cities like Jaipur and Jodhpur, leading to their inclusion in the high-prize category.
