Sports News: Indian cricket team's experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has reacted to not being selected for the ODI squad for the Australia tour. He accepted the decision with complete maturity, stating he wasn't surprised by it. However, Jadeja clearly stated that his passion for playing ODI Cricket is still intact, and he wishes to return to Team India in this format in the future.

Discussion Held Before Selection

Jadeja revealed that the team management had already informed him about this decision. He stated that when the selection committee picked the squad for the Australia tour, he was not surprised at all, as it was all predetermined.

Ravindra Jadeja said,

“The team management, coach, and captain had already informed me about this. They also explained the reasons, so when the team was announced, I wasn't surprised. It's good that they spoke to me clearly.”

He further added that selection is not in his control, but whenever he gets an opportunity, he will try his best to perform for the team.

“I always want to play for India”

Jadeja said,

“I always want to play for India. It is every player's dream to help their country win while playing for them. But ultimately, the decision rests with the selectors, captain, and coach. I respect that decision.”

He further mentioned that he has been rested at this time to provide opportunities to new players. But whenever he is recalled, he will be ready to perform with 100 percent effort, just like before.

Eyes on the World Cup

Ravindra Jadeja also stated that his main focus is on the next ODI World Cup 2027. He said, “The World Cup is the biggest dream for every player. If I get an opportunity, I will try to make a significant contribution to the team.”

He added that if he gets a chance to play some ODI matches before the World Cup and performs well, it will prove beneficial for Team India. Jadeja stated that his goal has always been to play a crucial role in the team's victory.

'I will do what I have always done'

In his statement, Jadeja said, “Whenever I get an opportunity, I will do what I have always done. My job is to perform on the field. The rest depends on the selectors and team management.”

He mentioned that many young players are performing well at the moment, which is a positive sign for Indian cricket. “I am happy that India has so many good options. This strengthens the team and increases competition.”

Selectors' Perspective

BCCI's chief selector Ajit Agarkar also made a statement regarding Jadeja. He had said that Ravindra Jadeja is still part of the team's future plans. However, considering the team combination in Australia, the decision was made to rest him this time.

Agarkar explained that the team management wanted to try out some new players for the Australia tour, which is why Jadeja was excluded this time. Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav have been included in the squad in his place.

Australia Tour Schedule

The tour between India and Australia is considered very important. Five T20 matches will be played between the two teams from October 29 to November 8. This tour will be a big opportunity for India's young players to showcase their abilities before the ODI series.

The objective of including Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav in this series is to strengthen the team's Spin Backup Strength. Meanwhile, Jadeja has been rested for now, with focus on his fitness and workload management.
