The franchise has entrusted this responsibility to Malolan Rangarajan, who has been playing a significant role in the support staff for the past six years.

Sports News: The fourth season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) will be played in 2026, and a mega player auction is set to be held for it. Prior to this, on November 5, all five franchises announced their list of retained players. In this list, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women's team has retained four players before the auction, including Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, and Shreyanka Patil.

Furthermore, RCB has also announced the new Head Coach for its women's team, who will take charge and guide the team from the upcoming season.

Malolan Rangarajan to Take Over Coaching Reins

The RCB women's team announced that Malolan Rangarajan will assume the responsibility of Head Coach from the upcoming WPL 2026 season. He will replace Luke Williams, who decided to step down due to his other coaching commitments. Malolan Rangarajan was part of the RCB women's team last season as the Head of Scouting and Assistant Coach. He has made significant contributions to the development of the team's players and is expected to provide new direction to the team in the upcoming season.

Considering his experience on the field, the team management has entrusted him with this responsibility. Malolan Rangarajan also has a very impressive First-Class cricket career. He has taken 136 wickets and scored 1379 runs in 47 First-Class matches. Throughout his cricket career, he has represented the teams of Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and South Zone.

Anya Shrubsole Added to Support Staff

RCB has also included Anya Shrubsole in the women's team's support staff. She has been a part of England's World Cup-winning team. Her experience will prove extremely crucial for the team's bowlers. The team's performance in WPL 2025 was not as expected, so this change in the coaching staff brings new opportunities and energy for the team. With Anya Shrubsole's arrival, there is a possibility of improvement in the strategy and performance of the team's bowlers.
