JIO NEWS: According to the latest data from the Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI), Reliance Jio overtook Airtel in expanding mobile connections in July 2025 by adding 4,82,954 new subscribers. Airtel added 4,64,437 subscribers during the same period, while Vodafone Idea and BSNL incurred losses of 3.59 lakh and 1 lakh customers respectively. Jio's total wireless subscriber base has reached 477.50 million. Meanwhile, the company has announced that its IPO will come in the first half of 2026, potentially worth up to 52,000 crore rupees, and could prove to be the largest issue in the country's history.

Jio Emerges as Number One in July

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, or TRAI, has released the mobile subscriber data for July 2025. According to this data, Reliance Jio added the most customers to its network in July, with 4,82,954 subscribers. Airtel added 4,64,437 new customers during this period. Although Airtel also performed well, it lagged behind Jio in terms of customer additions.

Conversely, Vodafone Idea lost 3,59,199 customers during this period. Additionally, the government-owned company BSNL also lost 1,00,707 customers. MTNL, which provides services in Delhi and Mumbai, also experienced a decline, with its customer base reducing by 2,472.

Total Customer Base of Jio

By the end of July 2025, Jio's wireless subscriber base grew to 477.50 million. This figure maintains its position as the largest telecom company in the country. On the other hand, Airtel's subscriber base stood at 391.47 million.

Talking about Vodafone Idea, it had 203.85 million customers remaining at the end of July. BSNL's customer base has dwindled to just 90.36 million. This data indicates that while Jio and Airtel are steadily growing ber, the situation for Vodafone Idea and BSNL is deteriorating further.

Competition in Broadband Services as well

Not just mobile connections, but a tough competition was also observed between Jio and Airtel in broadband services. In July, Airtel added the most customers in broadband services, with 2.75 million. Jio also did not lag behind, acquiring 1.41 million new broadband customers.

Interestingly, Vodafone Idea added a modest 0.18 million customers in this sector. BSNL, on the other hand, saw a growth of 0.59 million customers in broadband.

By the end of July, Jio's broadband subscriber base reached 498.47 million, while Airtel had 307.07 million customers. Vodafone Idea's broadband customer base was 127.58 million, and BSNL had only 34.27 million customers.

Jio's IPO in 2026

Chairman Mukesh Ambani made a significant announcement at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries. He stated that Jio's IPO will be launched in the first half of 2026. Following this news, investor enthusiasm has further heightened.

Industry experts believe that Jio's IPO could prove to be the largest issue in the country to date. It is estimated that its size will be around 52,000 crore rupees. If this happens, it would be twice as large as the recently launched Hyundai IPO.

Potential Valuation of the Company

According to market experts, Jio's valuation after the IPO could reach approximately 10 to 11 lakh crore rupees. This means that Jio will not only become the largest telecom company in the country but will also be among the top companies in terms of market capitalization.
