Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is facing renewed public attention following media reports claiming that he has acquired United States citizenship. The reports have triggered discussion on social media, although neither Dosanjh nor his team has issued any official statement on the matter.
According to the reports, Dosanjh obtained US citizenship in 2022 and has since been using an American passport. The reports further claim that he now uses an e-visa for travel to India. No official confirmation has been provided regarding these claims.
Some media reports stated that Dosanjh’s last Indian passport was issued in 2018 from Mumbai and Zambia. The reports alleged that he later applied for US citizenship and received an American passport in 2022.
The reports also claimed that after obtaining US citizenship, Dosanjh registered the address of his five-bedroom residence in California in official documents. In addition, reports stated that his wife, Sandeep Kaur, resides in the United States.
