The verification of the electoral roll is underway in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme 2026. As part of the process, meetings will be held at all polling stations on November 4 and November 18 to review voter details, publish information about pending verification cases and provide an opportunity for citizens to raise objections and submit suggestions.
The district administration has scheduled the meetings to ensure that information relating to voters whose verification has not been completed is made available at the polling station level. Details from the electoral roll will be read out during the meetings, allowing local residents and political party representatives to participate in the verification process.
The fifth meeting under the Special Intensive Revision programme 2026 will be held at all polling stations in Sahibganj on November 4.
During the meeting, the names of voters who have not yet completed the notice and verification process will be read out. Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) and local residents will also be involved in the proceedings.
Participants will be able to provide information related to the electoral roll and raise objections before the officials if they identify any discrepancies in names or other details.
The initiative is aimed at identifying cases where voter information remains incomplete or the required verification process has not been completed.
The administration has asked political parties to ensure that their respective Booth Level Agents attend the meetings so that issues concerning the electoral roll can be examined at the local level.
The sixth meeting will take place on November 18, following the November 4 meeting. On that day, Form-3 will be published, containing details of individuals found ineligible for inclusion in the electoral roll following the hearing and verification process.
The list of individuals identified as ineligible will be read out to those attending the meeting. This will enable political party representatives and local residents to access information about the relevant cases.
The administration will also provide copies of Form-2 and Form-3 to BLA-2 representatives, allowing political party agents working at the polling station level to examine the relevant lists.

The revision process involves not only checking the names recorded in the electoral roll but also examining voter eligibility based on the available information and verification findings.
As part of preparations for the Special Intensive Revision programme, Sahibganj Deputy Commissioner Deepak Kumar Dubey held a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties.
During the meeting, officials provided information about the scheduled meetings, the verification of electoral roll details and the publication of the relevant forms.
The Deputy Commissioner urged political parties to ensure the participation of their BLA-2 representatives in the meetings scheduled for November 4 and November 18. He also emphasised the need to involve members associated with the Election Pathshala initiative.
Vijay Kumar, Kumudini Tudu and representatives of various political parties attended the meeting. Officials requested all participants to extend their cooperation in the revision programme.
Alongside the verification of existing electoral roll entries, the district administration is also raising awareness among eligible citizens about registering their names in the voter list.
The Deputy Commissioner asked political party representatives to encourage eligible individuals to submit Form-6 for inclusion in the electoral roll.
Form-6 is used to apply for first-time registration as a voter. Indian citizens who have attained or are due to attain the age of 18 by the prescribed qualifying date and fulfil the other eligibility requirements can apply through this form.
Registration in the electoral roll is necessary to exercise the right to vote. Citizens whose names have not yet been included in the voter list can apply in accordance with the applicable eligibility requirements.
The meetings scheduled in Sahibganj on November 4 and November 18 are particularly relevant for citizens whose verification remains incomplete or whose names and other details are subject to pending cases.
Voters can contact their respective Booth Level Officers to obtain information about their registration status. They can also check their names and other details in the electoral roll through the Election Commission's official portal.
