Bijapur: In the Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, security forces have achieved another significant success against Maoists. Security forces razed a 15-foot-tall memorial, which served as a propaganda site and symbol of fear for Naxalites hidden in dense forests, to the ground. This memorial was built by Maoists to spread fear among villagers and propagate their organization's ideology.

Naxal Memorial Found in Bijapur Forests

According to information, a joint team of CRPF's 153rd and 168th Battalions was conducting an area domination operation in the Gotumpalli village area of Bijapur. During this, security forces spotted a massive stone-like memorial in the dense forests, bearing the names of Naxalite leaders.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and, upon investigation, found that this memorial was built in memory of members killed by Maoists. It was constructed using forced labor from local villagers, enabling Naxalites to maintain the impression of their presence.

Security Forces Demolish 15-Foot-Tall Structure

Acting on the orders of security officials, the team immediately began operations on the spot. With full security arrangements, the memorial was first weakened with the help of explosives and then razed to the ground using a bulldozer.

According to eyewitnesses, the 15-foot-tall stone structure turned into rubble within minutes. During the operation, armed forces were on high alert to counter any potential reaction from Naxalites in the area.

Stir Among Naxalites After Operation

Security Forces' Successful Operation in Dense Forests

This operation was conducted by a joint team of DRG, Tarrem Police Station, CRPF-153, and CRPF-168. Amidst Bijapur's challenging hilly and dense forests, security forces carried out this operation with extreme caution and discretion.

Local police stated that this action has not only sent a b message to the Naxalites but has also increased villagers' trust in the security forces. The administration has clarified that such surgical operations will continue in the future to completely free Bijapur and surrounding areas from Naxalite influence.
