Sensex rises 350 points to near 77200 Nifty approaches 22500 on global cues and Q4 earnings

Indian equity markes and the Nifty 50 rising over 100 points, supported by global cues and corporate Q4 results. Banking, auto, insurance, and agri stocks saw activity, while multiple major companies are set to announce quarterly earnings.

Indian equity markets opened higher on Wednesday, supported by global cues and corporate earnings, with early gains reflecting improved investor participation. In initial trade, the BSE Sensex rose about 350 points to trade near the 77,200–77,237 range, while the Nifty 50 advanced over 100 points and approached levels above 22,500.

The rebound follows recent declines, with positive signals from global markets and ber-than-expected quarterly (Q4) corporate results supporting market sentiment. Analysts attributed the upmove to international stability and softer crude oil prices.

Banking and auto stocks led the early gains. Shares of Bandhan Bank advanced after the bank reported a 68% increase in profit to ₹534 crore. Tyre manufacturer CEAT also recorded a 145% rise in profit to over ₹243 crore, leading to gains in its stock.
