Supreme Court Grants Relief to Shreyas Talpade in Fraud Case

Actor Shreyas Talpade has received significant relief from the Supreme Court. The court has stayed his arrest in a case of fraud and breach of trust registered against him.

Shreyas Talpade Got Relief: Renowned Bollywood and Marathi film actor Shreyas Talpade has received significant relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has temporarily stayed the arrest of Shreyas Talpade in a case of fraud and breach of trust registered in Sonipat, Haryana. An FIR was registered against the actor in this matter, but now the court has clarified that he will not be arrested until further hearing.

What is the whole matter?

The entire dispute is related to a society and multi-marketing scheme in Sonipat district of Haryana. According to the complaint, this society started a chit fund scheme by naming film actor Shreyas Talpade and senior artist Alok Nath as its brand ambassadors. Under this scheme, people were lured with the promise that their money would be doubled in six years if they invested.

It is alleged that about ₹9.12 crore was defrauded from about 45 investors through this scheme. The operators of the company lured people with the promise of manager positions and pressured them to add more people. When people invested money and time passed under the scheme, the company's offices suddenly closed.

Supreme Court's observation and relief

After this scam came to light, the victim investors filed an FIR at Murthal police station in Sonipat, Haryana. The complaint stated that the company won the trust of the common people by using the name and face of actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath and defrauded crores of rupees. After this, an FIR was also registered at Gomti Nagar Vistar police station in Lucknow.

A total of 13 people were accused in the FIR, including actors Shreyas Talpade, Alok Nath and other directors of the company. Shreyas Talpade filed a petition in the Supreme Court stating that he has no direct connection with this fraud scheme. He was only added as a brand ambassador and his name has been misused.

Hearing the matter, a bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and K.V. Vishwanathan issued notices to the Haryana Police and other concerned parties. Granting interim relief from arrest to Talpade, the Court said that the actor will not be arrested until the entire investigation and hearing of the case is completed.

Shreyas Talpade's version

Shreyas Talpade says that he is not involved in any kind of fraud or this multi-marketing scam. He only worked in an advertising material, for which he was selected by the company under a legal contract. He himself is hurt and surprised by this incident that his name has been misused in this way.

The investigation has revealed that this company was raising money from investors in the name of multi-level marketing. The person investing was provoked to add others by making them an 'agent' and then a 'manager'. In return, they were lured with false targets and hefty returns. But after some time, when investors started asking for their money and returns, the company's offices were closed and the operators absconded.
