Shubhangi, who entertained audiences in the role of Angoori Bhabhi for 10 years, recently shot her last episode and shared her emotional experiences. The show's makers have decided to bring back the original Angoori Bhabhi, Shilpa Shinde, which led to Shubhangi's departure from the show.
Shubhangi's Emotional Farewell
In a conversation with 'ETimes', Shubhangi Atre said, "I had always promised Mrs. Kohli that my journey on the show would begin with pride, honor, and glory, and it would end the same way. I see this as a good farewell. There's no point in getting entangled in understanding the reason for the replacement. I see it as a blessing. This is the time for me to explore new roles."
She further added that she is now fully focusing on her daughter and her work. Leaving the show was not easy for Shubhangi. She shared, "Leaving a show that I was a part of for 10 years felt like leaving home. In the last few days of shooting, I became very emotional. This character had become a part of me. I am very grateful because this show gave me everything."
Experience of Replacing Shilpa Shinde
Shilpa Shinde left the show in 2016, after which Shubhangi began playing the role of Angoori Bhabhi in her place. Regarding this experience, Shubhangi said, "It's not easy to replace someone. When you create a character from scratch, you shape it with your personality and experience. But when the character already exists, it's challenging to maintain its nuances and build the same bond with the audience."
Shubhangi expressed her gratitude, stating that the audience gave her so much love and support. "I am satisfied that I did my work with complete honesty and dedication. I am grateful to the entire team of the channel, makers, and technicians. Working with them has been a memorable experience for me."
Emotional Experience of a 10-Year Journey
Shubhangi described her 10-year journey on the show as "raising her own child." She said, "Shilpa left the show within nine to ten months, and this character was entrusted to me. I nurtured it for 10 years, and now I am returning it. I am wholeheartedly handing it over to Shilpa and the 2.0 version of the show." Wishing her fans and team well, she added, "I am now ending this replacement game. I wish Shilpa and the entire team for the new version of the show all the best. This decision is emotional for me, but I see it as a new beginning."
