Grand Sita Temple Complex Construction to Begin in Sitamarhi, Bihar

Following Ayodhya, the construction of a grand temple complex dedicated to Sita is now set to begin in Sitamarhi, Bihar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate this ₹882 crore project in Punora Dham today. The temple complex will span 67 acres and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for devotees.

Bihar: The foundation stone for the grand temple complex of Sita Mata will be laid today in Punora Dham, Sitamarhi. This project, estimated to cost ₹882 crore, is targeted for completion in just 11 months. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the comprehensive development of the birthplace of Goddess Sita, while the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the saint community will enhance the dignity of the event.

67-Acre Complex to be Ready in 11 Months

Punora Dham is considered a major center of Hindu faith. The temple complex to be built here will span 67 acres, with a 151-foot-high main temple serving as its hallmark. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation will oversee this project, and construction work will begin immediately after the foundation stone laying ceremony. The administration has set a target of completing it in just 11 months, so that devotees can benefit from visiting the temple soon.

State-of-the-Art Facilities for Devotees

The temple complex will feature structures such as a pilgrim facilitation center, auditorium, guest house, Mata Janki Kund Ghat, Bhandara site, temple entrance gate, Yagya and Anushthan Mandap, tourist facilitation center, and tensile umbrellas. In addition, there will be e-cart stations, Prasad and kitchen areas, a museum, Bhajan Sandhya venue, Mithila Haat, Veda Pathshala and library, cafeteria, food court, traveler dormitory, temple road pathway, and parking. The beautification of Maa Janki Kund is also part of this plan.

Shah's Message and New Train Service

Amit Shah will also flag off the Amrit Bharat train from Sitamarhi to Delhi today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved this train to ensure the convenience of devotees and better connectivity to holy sites. A day before the foundation stone laying ceremony, Shah wrote on social media platform X that this day is a proud moment for the entire country, especially Mithilanchal, as a new chapter in the development of the birthplace of Sita Mata will begin.
